Okay, so it’s been a busy March so far and I’m so behind on all my crafting posts! I have them all in the works and slowly they’re coming to fruition. I finished this painted door mat last night and took pictures in the crazy wind today! This mat was super easy to make and I think it’s so cute. You can put any saying you want on the mat but I thought the “cute shoes” saying was perfect. Have fun with the colors too! I did hot pink because…obsessed but a nice blue or just black writing would look nice as well!

I cut the letters out using my cricut. You can trace letters and cut them out with scissors or an x-acto knife as well. I just used the simple Calibri font because I wanted to keep if very basic and legible. Feel free to use a different font!
I didn’t have sticker or stencil paper so I cut the letters out on cardstock and taped them together. I then put some rolled pieces of tape on the back of the stencil and stuck it to the mat. It doesn’t stick very well so just make sure you hold the paper down when you start painting. I lined the letters up by finding the middle of the mat with a ruler.
I did two coats of paint and then took the letters off the mat. I went back and touched up the letters with a smaller paintbrush and voila! A super cute door mat to remind your guest’s that they are wearing fabulous shoes! You’ll be complimenting them before they even step foot in your house.
I made a bouquet of white roses (which I’m turning pastel for my next blog post!). You can find how I wrapped them in kraft paper here. I just love how flower bouquets look in the brown paper and tied with a ribbon!
